April brings plenty of exciting updates from the world of Škoda electric – and I’ve put everything together for you: new models, a software patch, an upcoming family roadtrip, and a major website upgrade focused on our community. Let’s go!
Škoda ELROQ RS revealed
The premiere of the new ELROQ RS happened – somewhat unexpectedly – virtually and at the Fashion Week in Milan. I wasn’t there in person, but here are the key facts:
- 250 kW power, all-wheel drive (first time in an ELROQ)
- 79 kWh net battery (max. 185 kW charging → 10–80% in 26 min)
- 0–100 km/h in 5.4 seconds
- Matrix LED, sports suspension, upgraded brakes as standard
- New “Futuristic” AVAS sound profile
- Exterior color Mamba Green is back
- Interior styled in green tones – though sadly no matching seat belts
Definitely a real RS model – I can’t wait to test it properly on the road soon.

Software update for ENYAQ with version 4.x
A patch is currently rolling out – version 4.1.2. Here’s what you need to know:
For ENYAQ with SW 4.1 (from April 2024):
- Over-the-air update from April 3
- Improved system performance & charging reliability
- Technical preparation for future OTA updates
For ENYAQ with SW 4.0:
- Workshop appointment required (free of charge)
- Additional improvements:
- More stable GPS signal (also in the app)
- More reliable 12V battery charging behavior
- Better detection with the intelligent parking assistant
My take: Version 4 was clearly a transition release – this patch likely prepares the system for a future upgrade to Software 5.4.ration – dieses Update bereitet vermutlich den Weg für ein späteres Update auf Software 5.4.
Big roadtrip to Norway in June
This summer, it’s time for a new adventure:
- Starting in Switzerland, heading to Norway – fully electric, of course
- Ferry with charging stations onboard
- Destination: a small off-grid holiday house with solar, battery storage and EV charging
- Travel companions: the whole family + our dog Marley
Your input matters!
What should I test, explore or talk about?
Send me your ideas by email or comment – and which car should I take?
(One rule: no Tesla 😄)
